How to Use All the Features on Apple Podcasts

Maybe you’re thinking: it’s pretty obvious, just go in the app and press play… and it is! But you can also use even more features on Apple Podcasts that can raise your listening game! 🎧

So to get started you’ll need to see if you already have Apple Podcasts downloaded.

And by the way, most Apple Products have it downloaded automatically, but just in case, you can find it in the App Store! 📱

Once you’ve downloaded the app you can start listening to all the podcasts that you love! 😍

Other features on Apple Podcasts that you can explore

Follow podcasts

You can follow podcasts that you want to keep up with. This means that they’ll automatically be downloaded to your device as soon as they’re released. 📲

All you have to do is go to the podcast that you want to follow, and click the follow button!

And if you want to go back and find all the shows that you follow you can go to the Library, then Shows, and then Followed. 👌

Unfollow podcasts

If you follow a show but then decide that it’s not for you, you can just as easily unfollow it. 👍

Go into the Library and then Shows and Followed and then click on the show that you want to unfollow.

Then tap the “…” button and a menu will appear and you can click Unfollow.

Choose the order that you want the episodes to play 📋

Open the Apple Podcasts App and then choose Library and Shows and click on the show.

Click the “…” button and then click Settings. ⚙️

In settings you can choose if you want to play your episodes from oldest to newest or newest to oldest.

Listen by season and episode

You can choose if you want to listen by season or decide if you only want the episodes that you haven’t listened to yet to be displayed. 🙉

Go to Library, then Show, then click on the show that you want to listen to.

You can then choose Seasons or Episodes and choose how you want them to be filtered and displayed. 🙈

Change the listening speed of a podcast

If you want to speed up or slow down the listening speed of a podcast it’s super easy! ⏱️

You can slow down a podcast for instance if you’re listening to a show in another language that you’re trying to learn, which can be great for practice. 💪

You could speed up a podcast if you want to listen to a show in a shorter amount of time. 🤏

All you have to do is start listening to an episode and then at the bottom click on 1x and then you can adjust the listening speed.

To sum up

All of these tips will help improve your listening experience on Apple Podcasts. 🎧

Now you can listen to more shows with more personalized settings! 😃
