Monetization

Monetizing Your Podcast

So you’ve finally joined the wonderful world of podcasting but you’re now wondering how you can jump onto the podcast monetizing bandwagon.

Monetizing your podcasts might seem daunting at first, especially when you consider the reluctance of brands to invest in this underestimated media.

So, how can you make a living from podcasting?

Know that your chances of becoming a millionaire are pretty slim. However, the good news is that there are various ways of obtaining financial support for your productions.

  • Crowdfunding

Crowdfunding allows your community to participate in your projects in exchange for small donations. For this purpose, there are several websites with different functions to help you out.

Ulule: The first suggestion from our crowdfunding website list, allows you to determine and obtain the amount that you need in order to complete your project with just one go.

This can be incredibly useful if you already have a community and want to kick start your podcasting project but need a bit of financial help to pay for your material.

Tipeee: Unlike traditional finance sites, there’s no stages that need to be reached when it comes to funding.

Everyone can give what they want for the duration that they want. This is great if you’re looking to receive financial support on a monthly basis.

Patreon: Using the same principle as Tipeee, Patreon offers Internet users to become patrons of content creators by choosing to give them a chosen sum every month.

  • Sponsoring

In the case of sponsorships, it’s no longer a question of asking your listeners to help you. It’s about selling air time to a brand.

To do this, there are different podcast advertising solutions:

Insert your sponsor’s advert at the beginning, middle, or end of your podcast.

And make sure to thank the brand at some point during your podcast as well, by the way.

When reaching out to brands you could even propose to test out products sent over by them to promote in your podcast, obviously stating that the product was given to you by your sponsor.

You might also choose to sell publicity space on your website (if you have one), or promote the brand on social media within your community.

You now have all the cards necessary to become a millionaire and lead the world with your podcasts!
