Knowing how to convert your podcast to video can help you grow your audience, and strengthen the relationship with your audience. đ¤Â
Audio podcast or video podcast? Why not create both?Â
Youâve made audio podcasts, now you can create video podcasts to add to your content reservoir⌠How great is that! đ¤ŠÂ
You can now publish videos on Youtube, social media, and soon Spotify, all of which will help grow your overall podcasting audience. đÂ
Itâs a proven fact that people enjoy looking at other peopleâs faces. đÂ
So why not give the people what they want and show them your pretty face!Â
By having a video podcast along with your audio podcast, it can increase your audience, because youâre appealing to a larger group of people.Â
What I mean by this is that not only will your content be available to those on a listening platform, but also those that watch Youtube videos.Â
Itâs also important to make your podcast stand out from the other millions of shows out there, and having video content can help you do this! đŞÂ
Or maybe your podcast has been very successful and has had thousands of downloads.Â
But then it starts to hit a lull, and you want to try something newâŚ
And maybe youâre thinking that the production of your podcast already takes enough time, and now you have to take even more time to start the production of a video podcastâŚ
But thereâs no need to be the next James Cameron or any kind of professional director! đď¸Â
You can simply do it yourself, with all the different types of software out there, it can be super easy!Â
And some of the best editing tools are free! đ¸Â
For example, iMovie (for Mac users) and Vimeo (for Mac and PC users).Â
Just follow the steps given below! đÂ
There are a few ways that you can convert your podcast to video.Â
It depends on which way you want your videos to look.Â
It also depends on the format of your podcast. Do you have an interview podcast, an audio fiction podcast, or a true crime podcast?Â
Some examples are:Â
No matter which style of video podcast you choose, there are different steps to follow for each.Â
You will see however, that there are some that are the same too!Â
Recording your podcast remotely on Zoom is a great option. You can also recording your show over Skype. These 2 options are great if youâre trying not to break the bank because both of these platforms are free! (Under a certain time limit)Â
They are also some of the best tools that are offered when youâre looking to convert your podcast to video.Â
This is because they are easy to use, and are very convenient when you want to interview guests remotely. đĽÂ
Who knew that you probably had great interview equipment on your laptop already! Â
The metadata that you create should include the episode title, the episode description, any tags for your show, and the thumbnail for your episode.Â
The thumbnail should be interesting so that people will want to click on your video. đąď¸Â
You could use a screenshot from the video and add your podcast logo and title of the video.Â
Just make sure that your logo and title are easy to read within the thumbnail so that people will be able to read it after you publish your video.Â
The Ausha Communication Module makes it easy when you want to make shorter video clips that you can use as teasers or trailers.Â
These video clips that you create can be used to promote your podcast on social media or on Youtube.Â
And it doesnât take long at all! âłÂ
Step 1: Start by uploading your pre-recorded audio file to the Ausha platform. Just as you would when youâre going to distribute it to the listening platforms.Â
Step 2: Go to the âVideo Clipsâ page and then click âNew Clipâ.Â
Step 3: Select the episode that you want to create a clip for and press âContinueâ.Â
Step 4: Trim the audio so that itâs the desired length that you want (the maximum is 60 seconds).Â
Step 5: Click âNextâ and then you can choose if you want a transcription and in which language you want the transcription, created with the built-in software.Â
Step 6: Review and edit the transcription to make sure that the subtitles match the audio and then âValidateâ the transcription.Â
Step 7: Choose the format of your video clip â square, stories, or horizontal.Â
Step 8: Choose if you want to display the waveform, and which color you want the waveform to be.Â
Step 9: Choose the main title and subtitle for the video clip.Â
Step 10: Generate the clip! đĽłÂ
This new great clip will then appear in your âVideo Clipsâ tab on your Ausha Social Media Manager.Â
After you generate the clip you will be able to publish it on Youtube straight from Ausha! đĽď¸Â
In your settings, just make sure that your Youtube channel is linked and that you have the box checked so that your videos publish automatically. â Â
This auto-publish feature will save you so much time, allowing you to get back to conducting another interview, recording a new episode, and thus creating more content.Â
The ease of this process is why we consider the video converter as one of the must-have podcast tools for creators.
Youtube would be the main place where you can share your video podcasts.Â
There, you can upload short clips that can serve as trailers or teasers, or you could upload full-length episodes.Â
If you do decide to upload full-length episodes to Youtube, I recommend filming the recording process with a camera. đĽÂ
It can be much more interesting to watch than just a video with your podcast cover on it.Â
But if you donât have time to record and edit video content with a camera, just make sure that your audio content is strong enough to stand alone with the podcast cover⌠youâll want to keep people interested!Â
If you create shorter video clips you can also publish them on social media to promote your podcast.Â
And good news! Soon you will be able to publish video content on Spotify!
On Spotify, youâll be able to check out your new favorite show, and see if they offer any accompanying video content as well.Â
Right now there arenât a lot of video podcasts available, but more will be coming in the future!Â
We can also expect more tools in the future that will be great for going from normal audio podcasts to video podcasts, which will help you publish the content that you create on Youtube and social media. đÂ
Youâll need to promote your new video podcast as much as possible so that it can get as many new listeners as possible.Â
Make sure that your video quality matches the audio quality of your podcast so that your audience can enjoy all of your content.Â
There are so many ways to create video podcasts that if you try one out and arenât super happy with the result, you can try another one. đÂ
Just make sure that youâre still sticking with the values and ideals of your show.Â
The editing process can be more challenging when youâre adding video to your audio, so take your time and make sure that the quality of your show doesnât decrease.Â
Once you get in the hang of recording your podcast with a video camera, you can branch out even further to do live podcasts.Â
When you do live podcasts you can still record your show with a camera and post it on Youtube but itâs also nice for those that want to watch it live to have the opportunity to do so.Â
This is also good if you have members of the audience calling in to ask questions during the recording of your show⌠but that depends on the format of your show. đÂ
If you use a script when recording your podcast, đ be sure that when you turn the camera on, you donât simply read the script, because thatâs not very professional and it wonât be super interesting for your audience.Â
When you convert your podcast to video you are increasing the visibility of your show, which will make it more accessible to a wider audience. đÂ
It also gives you more content that you can share with your listeners which will help your show continue to grow from just your podcasting audience to also your video audience.Â
So head to the studio, set up your podcasting equipment, and start recording your podcasts with video to accompany them.Â
And soon enough youâll be releasing podcast videos like a pro! đÂ
We canât wait to see them on Youtube, social media, and soon enough Spotify!Â
