To put your podcast on Spotify, you need a hosting platform that generates an RSS feed and at least one published episode. With Ausha, you activate Spotify distribution in one click and your show appears within a few hours. Without a host that distributes for you, you submit your RSS feed manually through Spotify for Creators.
Spotify is one of the biggest podcast platforms in the world. Among weekly podcast consumers, 20% use Spotify most often for podcasts, behind YouTube (39%) and ahead of Apple Podcasts (11%). Spotify also captures 25% of daily podcast listening time (The Infinite Dial 2026, Edison Research and SiriusXM Media). If your show isn’t there yet, you’re missing a big share of potential listeners.

In this guide, you’ll learn:
- the three ways to get your podcast on Spotify, and which one to choose;
- how to distribute your podcast to Spotify with Ausha, step by step;
- how to submit it manually through Spotify for Creators;
- what to do once your show is live: find your link, edit episodes, fix issues.
Three ways to get your podcast on Spotify
| Method | Effort | Other platforms | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Distribute via your host (e.g. Ausha) | One click, then automatic | Yes, in the same place | Most podcasters |
| Submit your RSS feed manually | 10–15 minutes, once | One by one, by hand | Shows on a host without Spotify integration |
| Host directly on Spotify for Creators | Low to start | No automatic distribution | Testing an idea, Spotify-only shows |
How to put your podcast on Spotify with Ausha
Before you start, make sure you have at least one published, public episode. Spotify, like every listening platform, needs it to list your show.
- Log in to your Ausha account.
- In the main menu, click Settings.
- In the left-hand menu, click Distribution.
- Find the Spotify box and click Distribute.
- When asked “Is your podcast already available on Spotify?”, click No. Already on Spotify? Answer Yes at step 5 to avoid creating a duplicate listing.
- Confirm by clicking Broadcast to Spotify.
That’s it. Your show usually appears on Spotify within one to a few hours. From now on, every new episode is sent to Spotify automatically.

Ausha distributes your podcast to more than 20 listening platforms the same way, including Apple Podcasts, Deezer and YouTube. See the full list of platforms.

How to submit your podcast to Spotify manually
If your host doesn’t distribute to Spotify, you can submit your RSS feed yourself. The process takes 10 to 15 minutes and happens once.
1. Check Spotify’s requirements
- Audio: MP3 files, between 96 and 320 kbps.
- Cover art: square (1:1), JPEG or PNG, in the highest resolution possible.
- RSS feed: a show title, cover art and at least one episode with complete metadata.
- Special characters: encoded in HTML in titles and descriptions (“&” becomes &). Other HTML tags are removed.
2. Log in to Spotify for Creators
Go to Spotify for Creators (formerly Spotify for Podcasters) and log in, or create an account. Choose the option to add an existing podcast.
3. Paste your RSS feed
Copy your RSS feed link from your hosting platform and paste it into Spotify. If the link is wrong, you’ll get an error message.
What’s an RSS feed? It’s a link that contains everything about your show: title, description, cover art, category, language and episodes. Listening platforms read it continuously and display your new episodes as soon as they’re published. Without it, you’d have to update every platform by hand for each episode.
4. Verify that you own the podcast
Spotify sends an 8-digit code to the email address in your RSS feed. This is usually the email you used to sign up with your host. Enter the code in Spotify. If it expires, request a new one.
5. Add your show details
Fill in the country, main language, hosting provider and category. Pick your categories carefully: they help Spotify users discover your show.
6. Review and submit
Check every detail, then click Submit. Your show usually appears within a few hours.
Should you host your podcast directly on Spotify?
Spotify is both a listening platform (where people listen) and a hosting platform through Spotify for Creators (where your audio files are stored and your RSS feed is created). These are two different roles.
- A hosting platform stores your episodes and creates your RSS feed. Ausha, for example, then sends that feed to more than 20 listening platforms.
- A listening platform (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, Deezer…) reads your RSS feed and displays your episodes to listeners.
How hosting on Spotify works
- Create an account on Spotify for Creators and choose to start a new podcast. Spotify creates your RSS feed.
- Upload your episode file.
- Publish. Your episode goes live on Spotify in a few clicks.
The main limit: no distribution to other platforms
If you host on Spotify for Creators, your episodes stay on Spotify. To appear on Apple Podcasts, YouTube, Amazon Music or Deezer, you have to submit your RSS feed to each platform by hand.
Spotify-only shows also cut themselves off from the listeners who prefer YouTube or Apple Podcasts.
Your podcast is on Spotify: what’s next?
How long does it take to appear?
Usually one to a few hours after you distribute or submit. New episodes and edits to existing ones follow the same delay: Spotify’s system needs a little time to update.
Your podcast doesn’t show up?
Wait 24 hours first. Still nothing? Check that you have at least one public episode and that your RSS feed meets the requirements above. Our guide podcast not showing up on Spotify covers the most common causes and fixes. Ausha users can also reach our team through the in-app chat.
How to find your Spotify link
- In Ausha: go to the Distribution page. Your Spotify link is right below the Spotify logo. It also appears at the end of the distribution steps.
- On Spotify: search for your show’s name, open its page and copy the URL from your browser.
To share your show, use your Ausha Smartlink instead: one link that sends each listener to their favorite platform.
How to edit a published episode
Spotted a typo or want a new cover? In Ausha, go to Episodes and click the pencil icon next to the episode. You can change:
- the title, description, tags and cover art;
- the audio or video file (click Change file);
- the season, episode type (full, trailer, bonus) and explicit content setting;
- the privacy setting (public, private, unlisted);
- the chapters.
Save, and your changes appear on Spotify within a few hours.
Can you get featured on Spotify?
Spotify no longer offers an editorial submission form for podcasts. Visibility now depends mostly on its charts and recommendation algorithm, driven by listening data: follows, completion rate, ratings.
